Squatting :
SQUATTING IS LEGAL in England Part II. criminal law act 1977. u need to put a paper somewhere in your squat where everybody can see it, and it need to contains the law. this paper called LEGAL WARNING if u dont have legal warning then u cant stay in the building legally, u cant occupy!!!!!!!!!!!! It could be nice, it could be shit depends on police,owner, neighbours I spent some times in different squats all around London, i cant say it was no good or bad, i always enjoy the time in my squat till i have got the paper of the eviction.. i was get evicted illegally a few times from Canning town, around Finsbury park. My life was all about squatting and i can see nice in it, not because u not paying.. cause u can live a different lifestyle with different people, but these people who u squat with, they got the same feelings about squatting, it means u got the same interest with the squatters cause they squatting... when u do squatting u need to know everybody who not squatting and know u are a squatter, they will not respect u cause of some reason.. some people like squatters, and the most of they hate them, cause then not paying for anything U can get the food from "skip", u can have electricity and gas for free, and u can have your place for free that is all u need and wants to have ?? become a squatter!! i am just joking YES u can have all these things for free, but u got the ability to PAY for them. 4 ex : u can register your house in the electricity or gas company and u can pay for them or u can just bypass both of them the choice is yours... u will need to be in good relationship with the neighbours, then they wont complain ... u have rights as a squatter, if u have any kind of problem with someone in or around your squat or somebody disturbing you THEN u can CALL the POLICE... (in this case u can let them in) anyway if the police turn up and they knocking u dont need to open a door for them that is your choice as well. The worst thing what can happened EVICTION there is 2 type of evictions 1, legal : when u get some papers from the court or council or from some government, council bullshit... then u will see when the hearing is on the court, which court it is, and the date of a hearing.. u can go there, u can have a defence u can win ( specially i did not hear from lot of winnings on against the owner ...... ) 2, illegal eviction : it is when some people with police, are coming to your squat knock then if u dont open a door then break in and ask u for leave at the moment... if u not doin it they grab u tand take u out then close the building ( i u still have some stuff inside u can apply in the court and they will help, but they cant/wont do anything about illegal evictions... ) to find a squat it could be hard, in london there is a squatters office in whitechapel they got the http://squatter.org.uk page u can open it then u will find them contact there. if u want to fing a building u need to be careful, and u need to spen some time to find the better one, and never forget U NEVER KNOW WHAT IS INSIDE.. i mean how the condition of the building is (from inside) lot of places are fucked by the persons who are closed it. they could cut the pipes, electric cables, took the meters, smash things like : sink bath toilet.. so the place can be fucked and it can be nice and liveable. u need to kind of make some plans about the place where u wanna go in u need to have more building in case of "shit inside" where u see the metal thing on the window and the door, that building is empty. u can squat it ( if u can ) DO NOT TRY TO SQUAT alone.. by the law : at least one person need to be in the building at all the time.. if you want to keep the buliding, u cant leave it empty!!! when u enter to the building u need to know u cant do CRIMINAL DAMAGE. if the police catch u when u entering u just say : u are squatting... and thats is all.. no more words cause they can use them against u... then they can take u to the station, and u can spend some time there, they can take your tools and maybe they give u back maybe not depends... u need to be sure the place is an empty place cause if it is not empty i men if the owners property is in there and the police catch u then u are not a squatter, then u do a criminal thing and then u a burglar... when the police catch u they let u anyway!! do not fear from them worst they can give u a CAUTION.. |
